To remove an ice cream stain from your couch:
1 . Quickly scrape to clear off any excess ice cream .
2 . Sponge the surface with a dry-cleaning solvent .
3 . Use dry spotter and cover with an absorbent mat moisted with dry spotter . Leave it stand as long as all stain is being removed . Change the mat as it picks up the stain and keep the stain and mat wet with dry spotter .
4 . Rinse with one of the liquid dry-cleaning solvents . In case any stain remains , use a couple of drops of liquid dishwashing or laundry detergent and a few drops of ammonia to the area .
5 . Tamp ( the procedure for taking a scrub brush down with light strokes on stained durable materials and fabrics ) or scrape to loosen the stain . Maintain the stain wet with detergent and ammonia solution . Blot occasionally with an absorbent mat .
6 . Flush well with water to remove all ammonia and allow to dry .
